The next natural progression was to follow the mountains to the coastline. We’re launching our next fleet of campervan rentals in Los Angeles, California beginning in spring, 2023.
Nearby camping in Malibu offers quick coastline access, but the sheer breadth of California camping includes Joshua Tree, Sequoia, Channel Islands, Death Valley, Yosemite, Mojave, and the Santa Monica Mountains.
For the adventurous, there are miles of valleys with some of the world’s best wineries, long winding roads you can traverse for days, Avenue of the Giants through some of the largest redwood trees in existence, and almost every biome, from oceans to lakes, and deserts to mountains.
California boasts 280 state parks, with up to 80 million visitors per year. These encompass 1.5 million acres of land, 320 miles of pristine protected coastline, and 4,500 miles of usable hiking, biking, and equestrian trails that you can explore. The 9 enormous national parks hold the most name recognition and include forests, volcanoes, deserts, and islands.
Cruising up the Pacific Coast Highway offers breathtaking views and access to big cities and small towns along the way. It can be done in 12 hours, but the best part is taking frequent adventure stops. Grab fish tacos and marvel at a baby sea otter preserve in Monterey, or strap on your warm weather gear for the always windy offshore breezes of Mendocino county as you encounter Bowling Ball Beach.
