Grand Canyon Rim Trail
This is likely what you think of when you think of the Grand Canyon. While the whole trail is just under 13 miles, there are a handful of places you can hop onto the trail to get to the views you’re looking for!

North Kaibab Trail
The North Kaibab Trail is for the seasoned adventurer. There are only three maintained trails in the park and North Kaibab is the hardest of the three. You’ll get a variety of views and terrains as your reward for your work!

Colorado River
The best way to experience the Colorado River through the Grand Canyon is a 2-to-5-day noncommercial trip. These permits go live a year in advance, so you’ll have to plan well in advance. A guided trip is a great choice as well.

Salt Lake City – 280 miles (North Rim)
Denver – 650 miles (South Rim)
Las Vegas – 275 miles (South Rim)
Phoenix – 225 miles (South Rim)

Mather Campground

The premier camping option on the South Rim is the Mather Campground. Most visitors will spend their time on the South Rim anyway, so this is a great location with incredible scenery. Park your travel van in the best location to see the sunrise and enjoy!

North Rim Campground
If you’re someone who wants to see the entirety of the Grand Canyon, you can’t pass over the North Rim. If you want a less crowded view of one of the Seven Wonders of the World, the North Rim Campground goes beyond where most people visit.

Forest Service Road 328 Dispersed
Dispersed camping is a well-established option outside of Grand Canyon National Park. With lots of spaces and a place guaranteed to fit your camper van rental. Just outside of the South Rim, this puts you in a great spot to get to your trailheads early.
