Big Cottonwood Canyon

This gorgeous campground is located up Big Cottonwood Canyon and is incredibly close to world-class hiking, fishing, and other outdoor activities. They have flush toilets, drinking water, and firepits. There are some sites that are reserved for first come first serve. This campground is located about 45 minutes from our Native office and 30 minutes from downtown Salt Lake City. Solitude Mountain Resort is located an additional 3 miles up the canyon and offers dining, disc golf, and other amenities. It is closed from the end of September to the middle of May.
Salt Lake City KOA

This urban campground offers all of the amenities that you could ask for including hot showers, flush toilets, a hot tub/pool, and a snack bar. This campground is located less than 10 minutes from the Native office and downtown Salt Lake City. The surrounding area is not the nicest, however, the campground is the perfect spot for a quick night’s stay at the start or end of your trip.
Antelope Island State Park

Antelope Island State Park is a hidden oasis less than 30 minutes away from the Native office. Antelope Island is home to a herd of American Bison and plenty of Antelope. The island also offers beautiful sunset and sunrise views from pretty much anywhere on the island. The State Park has plenty of campsites, many of which are first come first serve. The campgrounds offer pit toilets, showers, and some have electricity at the sites. This is the perfect place to stop on your way back from an adventure up north.
Diamond Fork

Diamond Fork Campground sits within the scenic Uinta Cache National Forest, surrounded by towering cottonwood trees. Just an hour and a half south of the Native office, it’s a great stop on your way back from an adventure in Southern Utah. Nearby, the trailhead for Diamond Fork Hot Springs leads to a stunning natural soak—perfect for unwinding after a day on the road. The campground features pit toilets, drinking water, fire rings, and picnic tables. It is open seasonally, closing from mid-October through mid-April.
Jordanelle State Park

Jordanelle State Park is home to Jordanelle Reservoir which is an awesome place to enjoy a quick swim or some kayaking. The campground has flush toilets, showers, and drinking water. Jordanelle is also located less than 15 minutes from downtown Park City and about an hour away from the Native office. There are plenty of hiking and biking trails within 15 minutes of the park.

Harmons is our top pick for grocery stores in the Salt Lake City area. They offer the best selection of fresh and organic foods and have a wide selection of meats and seafood as well. Harmons is well known in the area for their amazing prepared foods. They have a ton of locations around the SLC area.
WinCo Foods

WinCo is a high quality discount food store that has an impressive selection at affordable prices. Their selection of fruits and vegetables is impressive, however they do not have organic options.
Smiths

Smiths is a subsidiary of Kroger. It is your classic grocery store with a wide selection of foods at great prices. They also have gas stations at each of their locations. They have a ton of locations around the SLC area.
Liquor Stores
A quick note on liquor in Utah. We have some of the strictest liquor laws in the country. Grocery stores are only able to sell alcohol that are below 5% ABV (beer, hard seltzer, etc.). Anything that is above 5% ABV must be bought from a State Liquor Store, they are closed on Sundays and Holidays. Below are the two locations that are closest to our shop.

Ruth’s Cafe

Ruth’s Cafe is a Salt Lake City staple for American Fare in Emigration Canyon that offers amazing views of the canyon. They are known for their amazing biscuits and gravy, mac and cheese, and chicken dishes. They are open for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Wasatch Brewery is home to multiple award-winning beers and a just as impressive food menu. They are well known for their handmade salads and delicious items like grilled salmon and tacos. They have an amazing dog-friendly patio.

Backcountry is an online retailer that specializes in outdoor gear for outdoor enthusiasts. This is Backcountry’s main warehouse on the West Coast and they have a retail store located within the warehouse that gives you access to over 7,500 different products stored in the warehouse. You will not find a better selection of items in Salt Lake City.
